Lake Dawn

The brief was for a large family home on a stunning lake front setting.  In order to meet the clients budget constraints this meant cleverly building on the existing slab footprint from the dilapidated 1940s bungalow that previously occupied the site.

The unusually linear house wraps the lake.  Living spaces maximise the southern aspect and stunning views, with the circulation and service spaces to the North.  The External glazing treatment was designed to mimic the verticality of the trees on the site allowing glimpses of the wildlife and scenery beyond, whilst bringing slices of light within.

Internally there’s clear hierarchy of spaces that flow outwards from the central double height atrium at the entrance.  Finishes have been kept purposefully minimal to focus on the surrounding natural beauty.
