Cathedral Road

PROJECT UNDER CONSTRUCTION - DUE FOR COMPLETION SPRING 2019

 

The brief was to help remodel a period property, recently used as a B&B, into a private dwelling as a family home suitable for modern living. 

The building already showed off its architectural heritage facing on to Conservation area of Cathedral Road, but  inside it has been substantially altered, with numerous subdivisions and an uninspiring accommodation block to the rear.

 

The design solution reinstates the building to its former footprint and many of the rooms to their original proportions. To the rear a side-extension enables a large open plan kitchen/ding/snug area for day to day life.  Light floods in to the space from the lanterns above and the full width steel casement screen to the rear.
